Works with 30 " Apple Cinema Display!

Finally! a DisplayPort to DVI adapter that drives an old school 2560x1600 movie display. I put the adapter in my evga 1080 graphics card plugged in, plugged the USB power dongle into the USB port on the back of my computer, then plugged the monitor cable into the adapter and SUCCESS! The cinema monitor now appears in my display settings (right click on the desktop to open ) in the attached image, the right Apple Cinema Display is connected directly to the graphics card, while the left display is connected via an adapter A strange thing happens: When you first start your computer or wake it up from sleep mode, the Adapter connected monitor.Three times black.Maybe it's because of how it's powered by USB?The first time it scared me to death kt, but after three black flashes, this monitor works fine as long as the computer is on. I'm so happy this product works! Now I don't need an extra graphics card heating up my computer! Inside temperatures are colder. They also freed up a few PCI slots to use for other purposes. This adapter isn't cheap, but it works - so worth every penny in my opinion. :) PS -- when I play games I use a monitor that is connected directly to the graphics card. So I have no idea if the adapter affects the framerate/quality. UPDATE 4 MONTHS: Adapter still "blinks" black a few times when turned on, but then works fine. there doesn't seem to be any side effects when playing on another monitor connected directly to the same graphics card, no loss of frame rate, etc. I'm very satisfied!

Pros
  • Cables and Connections
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
