Review on TEMCo TH0004 Hydraulic Knockout Punch: Precision Power for Effortless Hole Drilling by Chris Meckler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works as good as my green: Update review after 18 months

I checked it out immediately after buying it (at the end) but thought I should update after 18 months: matrices hold up well huh this set cost i don't expect it to last but it does. I've used it quite a bit and set up 1" and 1.5" strokes. As I mentioned, I use it with my green die for the large sizes I have and the plunger does 3" holes just fine. than 3". If there is only 1 small 1/2" or 3/4" hole I use a carbide hole saw as I still need to drill the guide but if you are going to make larger and or more holes this is it Baby really easy to use and quick I lubricate the stamp with each use and it only takes a couple of pumps and the hole is done if I were to buy again I would get a larger set up to 4 inches but when I got it I took a chance because it was 1/ 8 cost Green: I've had no trouble with a jack or drawbar and mentioned I used a dremel to set the cutting edge at 1" and 1.5". , but did the same thing to my green set when it went dull (they could rip through more holes... but at 1/8 a little modification costs the same as mine did with the green ones), the case held up well.My student bought the same set and some guys in his class gave him trouble until they heard i.e hat my kit lasted, the only thing h Something this kit could do better for an electrician is a 1-7/32 industrial panel switch punch, which allows me to punch over 30 holes in 1 panel (a punch costs nearly $40). I give the set 5 stars for the value it should get but that's all they allow and I didn't ask for a free gift for my review so you know it's honest. Original Review: For the price, this is an amazing knockout set. I punched a few holes and it worked just as well as my green one. the dies from my green one also fit the drawbar for 1/8th the price hopefully it will hold up but for the price I could buy quite a few new sets compared to the green one.

Pros
  • That's amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
