Review on Performance Tool W1131C Ignition Tune Up by Adrian Hayes

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good wrench, need better sockets

I bought a 4 piece blow down tuning kit to replace spark plugs and coil packs. The first spark plug went in fine, but when trying to put a new one in, I had trouble pulling the spark plug socket out. The head detaches from the key and remains on the spark plug. I took needle nose pliers and was able to pull them out. When I tried to remove the second spark plug, it didn't stay in the socket. That was the whole point of acquiring specialized candle cartridges. The same goes for the third. Then I looked inside the socket and found that the piece of rubber that helps hold the spark plug in place had come loose. I took out the first spark plug and sure enough the rubber part came off the first one. I didn't push the spark plug into the socket very firmly, so I feel like it's just poorly designed. I'll leave the key and socket anyway. The swivel head and the base extension are particularly practical. The specialized nozzle is now just a deep nozzle that still gets the job done, I just have to add a pair of needle nose pliers.
