Review on πŸ—„οΈ Optimized Storage Organizer for Hardware by Amazon Basics by Richard Alemayehu

Disappointing boxing action!

I use these organizers for my very extensive Lego collection. I generally prefer drawers, but drawers work too - IF the drawers slide out and slide out smoothly, with the right "stop" at the back. This unit is solidly built into the case, but the drawer really lets it down. I passed this organizer on to my spouse to use for nuts and bolts and such. It's not that annoying if you don't have to use it that often. Each plastic box has a removable divider. I thought the drawers were hanging because of the divider, so I pulled out a few drawers (like the last one in the video); it didn't matter if the box moved smoothly. There is a tab that prevents the drawer from fully extending, but it doesn't always work properly either. And it's not even about specific drawers: sometimes the drawer slides out easily, sometimes not. And they don't come back any better, you can see how hard I had to slam some to close them. There is no carrying handle (perhaps because they are stackable units?). There are holes on the back for wall mounting, but this can be a problem depending on the weight of the items you are storing here. It's probably best planned to sit on a shelf or desk. This block might be useful for storing something that you don't need to access often. But if you plan on constantly opening and closing drawers while working on a project (Lego, crafting, etc.), then you should definitely avoid this organizer.

Pros
  • Finger grips make it easy to slide drawers forward and recoil stops prevent contents from falling out
Cons
  • So far so good
