Review on Polymaker Matte PLA Filament 2 by Adam Roman

The main reason I bought this thread was to stop the growth of a bunch of spools that I need to find another use for. The coil of this thread is made of pressed paper or cardboard. This material is biodegradable (probably compostable) and recyclable. Environment: ===========Ultimaker S5Indoors, 68F/20C, 54% RH The thread was skeptical. The filament itself is more malleable and appears less dense than other PLAs when loaded into a printer. Looking at the specs of this PLA and others from Polymaker and others, PolyTerra is actually slightly denser than standard PLA. This means your printer should have a slightly more predictable hot-end temperature than PLA typically requires. If you have a reputable brand and haven't modified the hotend or related systems, this shouldn't be a problem. The first few passes felt a little sticky, there will be some pilling and tension (this is a temperature control issue), but subsequent layers were impressively smooth. I've had this thread for 8 hours now and am printing 7; 3 separate prints. There are still no complaints about the quality. The yarn has a lovely matte appearance and texture and requires little finishing unless you want a polished piece. The color is lighter than standard PLA. The panels tear off easily, leaving very little material in the corner of the panel and on top of the detail. Conclusion==========If you have a printer, you can precisely control and maintain the required printing temperatures for PLA. , you should have no problem printing this material. I will definitely buy this again!
