
This product comes with brass internals that hold the auger in place while it rotates. They had to be stainless steel as they come in direct contact with the meat being processed. After I made another set of stainless steel that actually matched the holes and attached the handle, the product works very well. I made about 10 pounds. , batches, and now it works fine. Turning the handle for about 8 minutes or so will mix 10 lbs. Spring. As others have pointed out, changing direction is key to good shuffling. Haven't tried the 20lb batch but I imagine it mixes just as well and obviously takes a little longer. I would recommend the manufacturer to change the material of the internals to stainless steel (although they need to charge a bit more) and correct the bore alignment.
