This is a really good lock and cable at an attractive price. The 1/2 inch thick cable is slightly more thief-proof for the average thug attempting to cut it with cable cutters. Most cable locks in this price range are only 3/8" or 0.40" thick. Yes, it could be cut if the thief were determined enough, but I think this one is strong enough that only a dedicated, experienced bike thief could cut it. So this little extra protection gets rid of about 90 percent of thieves. This lock looks its best, especially when securing cheap bikes, and just steps down to easier pickings. The 6 foot length is great especially if like me you also like to run a cable through your front wheel to keep a thief from snooping on your quick release front wheel. It appears to be solidly built. The mount works well and is easy to assemble. Very happy with this product. It was easy to set the combination to my desired 4 digit code. Came with simple instructions.
