Although I picked it because I think it's beautiful, I think this design looks better on a CAD designer screen than it does in real life when manufacturing tolerances come into play. Lots of assembly problems: you start by assembling the top of the mailbox with its base, but you have to compress the top to fit the base as the size doesn't match. The problem is that three screws on each side are not enough to hold the top in perfect position and you end up flexing on the sides of the top despite your best efforts to secure the top properly in the molded bottom tabs lock. Then assemble the front and rear doors with the roof/floor assembly. The instructions require you to position them by flexing the molded plastic top until they snap into place. The problem is that the hinge pins on the doors are simply burned out door extensions and will bend and compress as they are inserted. because of their fragility. After attaching the newspaper rack to the shelf, connect it to the top/bottom/door assembly. The problem with this is that the manufacturing tolerances are sloppy and it doesn't fit right away. I had to take a wood rasp to the magazine rack to remove the molding and then squeeze it together so it would properly engage the top/bottom/door assembly. The next step is to snap the back door for the newspaper rack. Same argument as letter box doors but with an even tighter fit. I had to separate the two assemblies, install the newsstand door and then reassemble to avoid breaking the newsstand door. BTW they claim it's rust resistant but give you normal plated steel mounts. I switched to stainless steel fasteners which I bought separately. After assembly, it is very easy to install on a 4x4 wooden rack. I bought this mailbox as a replacement for Step2 Mailmaster Plus. The Mailmaster has been in service for 14 years and I have only now replaced it because it was damaged in a collision with a self-propelled lawnmower. I regret not having bought another Mailmaster because I think it is better than this one for about the same money. I don't know how this mailbox became Revane's Choice and I certainly disagree. Update: Do not purchase this item if you live in an area where ice and snow can fly off a passing snow plow. With 6 months of operation, the mine died because of this at a temperature of 20 degrees. The thin plastic at the junction between the mailboxes tore from the impact. I was able to temporarily set it upright by sealing it with Gorilla Tape. The new MailMaster has already been ordered.
