I bought these to replace the very weak (3.0 W/mK) thermal pads that come with some of my external NVMe cases such as the Samsung 960 - and 970 SSDs are still running very hot (85 vs 90+ without anything). In general, the higher the rating, the more robust and robust thermal pads are, and they're no exception, but not up to Fujipoly's 17.0 W/mK level. They work well enough. With them I was able to get the temperature down to mid 70's which is more than enough. The outer cases, which also double as heatsinks, also feel noticeably warmer under heavy use, as the new thermal pads definitely do the job. 5/5
