I just got these three of these because I have them in different tool kits in different locations. Haven't used them yet, so maybe too early to judge. They appear to be good quality alloy steel for this purpose BUT as others have mentioned there is no final grinding or sharpening. Of the three I have, only one has a really straight cutting surface with a real point. The other two have a slightly rounded finish and the tip isn't what I expected to get a nice sharp cut. I need to take them to the grinder and see what I can get out of them without too much heat and composure. For the price I find them good. If they fail me like the other cheap ones I've used, it's just time to buy a Tekton or Starrett and they'll be converted to masonry or something other than more precise metalwork. These are definitely good chunky pieces and there's a lot of stuff to work with.
