Review on SilverStone F1 Monaco S radar detector by Makoto Ikeda ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I³'m satisfied with the product, it³'s well made and the price is also satisfying.

On average, once a month fines for speeding came, although I try not to break them. I figured that if I installed a radar detector, then somewhere in two years its cost would pay off. In general, the device turned out to be useless for me. With the same success, you can use an old smartphone with the appropriate application. Its pros: - The device is made with high quality, looks good, a lot of settings. Very convenient informative display, convenient management. - It connects to satellites very quickly, 5-15 seconds. Warns in advance about the radars available in the base of the radar detector. - Few false positives. Sometimes it squeaks for several kilometers on the highway, but this is apparently due to nearby cars with a blind spot monitoring system. - Ability to set truncated voice alerts. Standard messages are pronounced so long that you have time to get to the next radar. - I have been using the device for six months. I learned about many radars installed around the city that I had not noticed before. True, they are installed where no one violates either the speed limit or the row. Cons below: - I work in Hong Kong, I live outside the city. Every day I enter the city along the M-7 highway and drive around the city. That is, the driving mode is “highway-city”. At the entrance to the city, 3 new radars were installed in the summer. I ate the database weekly, but for four months there is no information about new radars. Perhaps in other cities (MSK, St. Petersburg, .) information in the databases appears faster. - If the radar is not in the database, then the signal about the radar is triggered 100-120 meters from it, that is, when it is already useless to slow down. Moreover, after the passage of the radar, it squeaks another 200-300 meters. Perhaps this is due to athermal glass, but the seller assured me that this would not affect signal reception in any way (even the installation site was chosen with it). - On the track, it issues warnings from the GPS database about radars that control oncoming traffic. Haven't come across this in the city.
