I bought this kit for my truck in addition to the new 40 Series Dual Flowmasters I installed two weeks earlier. So I can't confirm how well the product works on its own. However, I am inclined to say that the increase in performance will be significant as I can feel the difference even compared to the changes my dual exhaust offers. This Series 77 3023KP is for 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 liter GM V8 engines commonly found in Silverados, Sierras, Yukons and Suburbans. As mentioned above my truck is equipped with a 6.0 and the aftermarket exhaust is a true dual exhaust, front to rear, no H-pipe, Y-pipe or any other type of crossover. I mention this because results can vary if you have a dual exhaust type, which is actually just a muffler with one inlet and two outlets. I'm not going to tell you that this thing will give you a lot more space. speed pants. While it does deliver the claimed 14+ horsepower boost, consider that it's being added to an engine that's already producing over 300 horsepower. and pushes a pretty heavy truck. Of course I can smoke hoops, but I could do it if I was in stock. In fact, I once got pulled over for accidentally whining my wheels while accelerating on a wet road. So what's the point you're saying? Why am I giving this product 5 stars if it hasn't turned my truck into a Nascar racer? The answer is simple. It does what it says on the tin, which is to improve my engine performance, improve throttle response and increase efficiency, resulting in better acceleration and overall handling. I immediately noticed that my engine seems to be under much less stress under normal driving conditions. The transmission shifts smoother, making the ride more comfortable. Driving through on the motorway is made significantly easier by the increased throttle response. I wouldn't be surprised if I see an increase in my MPG and will report it as soon as I can gauge it. One of my favorite attributes of the system (and one that lets me know it's working) is that the last thing I hear after I turn off the engine is the kit taking one last breath and putting it down that polished pipe sends. . And if we talk about the polished pipe, then there is no harm in that the unit looks spectacular and really improves the appearance of the engine. A few installation notes. Anyone who has the tools and is familiar with the main components of the engine can easily install this unit. Even with my little experience as a mechanic, I was able to assemble this thing and fit it into a truck in just over an hour. Someone with experience with such an addon could do it much faster, but I felt the need to double check everything to make sure I'm doing everything right. Also, the first thing I did when I opened the box was to go through the parts and contents list and make sure everything was there. The time I spent on this is factored into my quoted installation time of over 1 hour. The most difficult part of the process was fitting the supplied edge onto the heat shield. It took a lot of effort to follow the edges of the screen with reinforced padding. Although the instructions follow this step after prompting you to attach the standard mass air flow sensor to the shield, I would recommend that you add the edging first. You'll be fiddling with the device a lot and it'll really bite you if you damage your mass air flow sensor in the process. Also in the instructions for this application there is a typo in the parts diagram. Part number 07027, 6mm rubber mounting studs are marked "O" in the parts list but are marked "D" in the illustration. This should be pretty obvious as the inlet is already marked with a "D". Otherwise everything else was pretty easy. This system is great and I recommend it to anyone looking to boost the performance of their truck or SUV. Now driving my truck is just as fun as the day I got it. I've seen this unit sold for a few bucks less on other sites.
