A long time ago I bought another instrument almost identical to this one with one BIG exception. The other has a threaded end cap that can accommodate additional blades (even those with perimeter grooves). It has a rounded rubber stopper (no threads) and a snug fit. If the goal was to design an even worse cap, removing it would be impossible. The shape makes it almost impossible to get a good grip and there was no edge to snag and pry open. I ended up using my knife blade when the screwdriver didn't want to get caught on the edge. The old tool was simple and convenient. Big. Not including the spare blade cap, that would be 4 to 5 stars (strong / holds the blade well / parts lined up well when assembled). I will be keeping the extra blades in my toolbox so I kept them but they really messed up what should have been easy. In comparison, I think it was worth the 2 star deduction. If I need to replace a blade, the easiest solution shouldn't be finding a replacement when there's a new one in the hilt. I believe the old blade was from Lisle and of course AutoZone. I was shocked that Revain had so many different options and they all seemed to have problems. When I finally saw this one I was sure it was the exact same tool as mine.
