Works, but works clunky and constantly uses the MacBook's WiFi connection

The documentation is complicated. The recommended iPhone app didn't seem to do anything useful at all. What worked (too well) was plugging the dongle into the TV's HDMI port, connecting to its WiFi (according to the information displayed), and using a web browser to connect (via its WiFi and built-in web server ). From there you can use the web menu to connect your local wifi and do some settings. Updated the firmware to the latest. And then I was able to connect from the iPhone or MacBook via AirPlay. Putting an iPhone or laptop display on a big screen is cool, it doesn't slow you down too much. It was a bit of a shame that the MacBook didn't recognize full 4K resolution (it only allowed up to 1920x1080). The TV (LG OLED) supports 4K, but maybe the laptop just can't play it. I can't tell if the TV is 4K or not with a dongle. BUT. The dongle does not work with Prime Video, Disney+, AppleTV+ or Netflix streaming services. The listing said "NOTE: iOS device does not support Netflix, Hulu and other encrypted and paid videos", but I wasn't expecting EVERYTHING on these services to be permanently encrypted. However, the FATAL issue for me was that it doesn't turn off its internal WiFi SSID/internal WiFi hotspot after setup. The laptop continues to connect to the WiFi dongle, which then acts as a regular WiFi router, but with a significant drop in speed and response, and some websites don't work. This happened even after the laptop was repeatedly told to forget about this network with the latest version of macOS (10.15.4). This can be used to improve video performance by allowing devices to connect directly to the Wi-Fi dongle, but doing so will significantly reduce internet speeds (e.g. from 300Mbps to 20Mbps). And there is no choice. Switching to home WiFi worked for a while, but then when the laptop was next to the TV it switched back to dongle. Strange.
