Review on πŸ§₯ Soft Close Hanger by Johnson Hardware by Mark Kolipano

Works great, but beware

This product works great. I bought one to see how it worked and then bought another for our second sliding door. I installed a motion sensor in our laundry room, which I really like, but it's right in front of the entrance. When you walk by or a dog passes, the light comes on when the door is even slightly open. I couldn't get my wife and kids to keep the door fully closed as you have to be careful not to bounce it when you close it. This fixed it. It doesn't take long to learn how to use the right amount of force to bring the door close enough for the automatic closer to actuate and get the job done. The force doesn't have to be exact, close enough to actuate the closer. Warning. The guide on the sliding door must be dimensioned to match the latch rollers. Mine were too small so I had to buy a door track and hardware. Because the rail runs inside the wall when you open it, you'll need to find a way to pull it out and get into another when you need to change rails. You can always rip out a wall, but it takes a lot of work. I built a tool that rotated on a vertical board and tied an electric screwdriver to the end that fit the wall to loosen and reattach the screws holding the rail. It worked great, but you have to get a little creative with the tool. It is now June 2021 and everything is still working great. I added a sliding door foyer to our house and of course bought this product again. However, this time I installed it before the door was installed, so everything was a lot easier.
