No comparison to the original. The new Eagle Grip pliers are better in every way including the fit and finish, grip accuracy, riveting, soldering, the threaded portion on the back of the grip has been vastly improved! And things like punching and edging are better. The mainspring is improved by the conical winding. I didn't need these pliers, I wanted to support Malco's efforts to restart production in the USA and make their product the best and a product that the workers at this plant can be very proud of. out. I have always made a living from tools and not only maintain the high quality of domestic production, but also contribute to it with our own products. People who appreciate these qualities should support such companies. I plan to buy more as gifts or when I need them.
