Review on 🍾 Black Dual-Function Rabbit Aerating Pourer and Bottle Stopper by Heather White

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Well ventilated but loose fitting and DOES NOT LEAK!

I'm a fan of the Rabbit Corkscrew and the Foil Knife so I was excited and a little disappointed with this item. I'm a fan of an evening glass of moderately priced table wine so an aerator can come in handy and being able to use it as a bottle stopper was attractive. The product is well ventilated. The stream is fast enough, there is no hissing or chirping as in some versions. Everything is fine there. BUT, the fit in a typical wine bottle (and I've used it on 3 brands so far) is loose. So when you try to twist the cap to close it all the way to the bottle you are actually twisting the bottom which I think can only worsen the seal further. I actively tried to prevent the base from rotating, but the resistance between the top and bottom is way too much than between the base and the bottle. While the first fill is usually fine, subsequent fills leak where the bottle and product meet so I had to wrap a napkin or tissue paper around the junction, which causes quite a bit of leakage, and yet it sometimes ends up being a bit my arm It's fairly easy to wash between bottles, and despite the flimsy seal, it seems to do its job as a bottle stopper well enough. the wine remains drinkable for at least 4-5 days. I don't know if I have a tune or if it's a system problem. I still use it as I like the ventilation better than my old battery, the noisy aerator after watering, but I'm not thrilled with the leakage issue.
