Tip Didn't Last Long: Tools & Equipment

I have a backhoe with about 30 grease fittings. The joints require a lot of lubrication and I only needed one G. Gun for this machine. When I received this foot operated grease pump I installed the fittings with no problems. Now it's service time again and the grease flows around the famous lock tip, between the tip and the fitting. There's no point having a monster 10,000 psi pressure if the tip won't hold up. I only used it for 30 fittings. So I remove grease stains around the fittings. What a mess. I cleaned the tip to a shine and made sure there was no residue on it that would cause it not to close on the fitting. I also swapped out the faucet for a brand new one. Now this Lock & Lube tip only works when there is no back pressure in the connection to be serviced and I hold it by firmly pressing on the fitting. Well, any cheap grease gun will lubricate such a hinge. I bought this to get a bulk tank and be able to blow out the old hardened fittings that need it. I'll call Lock & Lube tomorrow to see what they have to say. I will post their solution or answer. Yes, it's still under warranty. But who wants to change the tip every <30 fittings? Specify US quality tip if required. I would pay more.
