This is my first review. As someone who often reads reviews and wonders if people who give poor reviews of certain products are incompetent or the product really sucks, please take my word for it and pass this modem on. I just switched to the xfinity 1000Mbps service and needed a modem that could handle it. The description of this product states that it supports speeds up to 2000Mbps, so I thought this was more than enough. Setting it up this morning after activating my services from xfinity, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that the speed tests dropped to the low 300s. While it's certainly fast enough, given the product I'm paying for, I want it to be really get what i pay for. I called xfinity and asked what was going on and they told me they are seeing slower speeds than they should be, but everything looked and worked fine from their end. In the end, I decided to take her word for it and find out what was wrong on my part. I've tried every online tutorial to help with speed increase and only seen minimal results. In the end I decided to go to the store and buy a new one (Netgear CM1000) and just test the new modem against this "outdated" piece of junk. I got 335Mbps with it and it went straight to 950Mbps when I plugged in a new one (Netgear CM1000). Take my word for it and turn this "deal" down. Spend a little more money and get a brand new modem right out of the box.
