Excellent smooth needles in this set

Here I will focus on the needles. The needles are very smooth and well polished. The tip is sharp and gently pierces the fabric, and the hook part allows the thread to flow and not stick. The needles are really good. I brought another set of tambourine needles and was very disappointed in them. The three pens in the tool box I bought were just like that. The sets look just like hundreds of other needle sets you will find on the market. Anyway, you can see in my picture how good the top needle is compared to the bottom needle which caught on the fabric and didn't let the thread flow smoothly. If you see a rough matte finish on the inside of the hook, forget it. Make sure the picture looks like the top hook, what does this set of needles look like? If I were new to the tambura I would give up using an unpolished needle. All nine needles in the other set were the same. Unpolished inside of the hook, so no accident. The needles in this set are excellent. Now the pen. I agree with other reviewers that the grip is pretty soft, but unless you buy a very expensive wood or aluminum grip, the grip is cheap. I had to glue the metal part back on, so what. I had to do that with other chain pin holders as well. A drop or two of superglue and you're done. I lightly grip the pen just above the metal needle holder and then rotate it with my fingertips. I tried, to reach higher and felt a slight bend in the wooden bar, but I don't feel any bend when holding the tool the way I do. A death grip isn't necessary, and to be honest you don't have to press down on the grip as hard to complete the stab. If this is the case, you may have too much thread for the needle size or your fabric is not firmly seated on the drum. If you raise the grip, you may find something about the bend in the grip that bothers you. But you will get it with most other woodworking tools on the market. It is also a real tambour needle designed for tambour, luneville and french embroidery. Beads and sequins are placed on the thread and pushed up to attach to the fabric under the frame. The Aari style needle is much longer as the beads and sequins are preferably placed on the needle itself and attached to the top of the stretched fabric facing you. This is a different style of instrument, so I don't think it's fair to complain about the needle being too short and not holding many beads when that style of embroidery isn't really meant for that tool. I believe overall the tool is really three stars if you turn on the button. But nearly all wooden pencils for sale tend to be made out of the same soft, flexible wood with a loose metal needle holder that you'll likely need to reattach. So I'm not deducting a star. Needles make stitches, not handles. The needles themselves are very exquisite. Very smooth and fully polished, making it a real pleasure to use. Tambour is pretty tricky. Make sure you have good needles so you can focus on your creativity and not trying to make the next stitch because you have poor quality needles. that in general the tool really has three stars when you turn the handle.
