First of all, the fuel pump retaining ring on my 2012 Ford Escape is very tight. I had a little trouble trying to reinstall it using this tool. The tabs on the tool didn't quite line up with the snap ring holes without fiddling around a bit. Also, one of the legs was not tightened because the bolted portion of the leg was too high to be slotted. I managed to get it set right, but it took a lot of effort to eventually install the locking ring. It was nice that this tool allows you to use a 1/2" socket wrench and an open end wrench at the same time as I needed to use both with the force required. I was a bit concerned that the tool would break before installing the snap ring, but it held. The shank portion of the tool appeared slightly deformed from the force, but still workable. I mostly slide the retaining ring onto the Escape itself, but I was hoping this tool would fit a little better and maybe be a little more durable.
