I have had several of these in my life and the Pentel Arts Tradio calligraphy pen convinces with its ease of use. When it's dry, just pop in a new cartridge and it won't leak! Very easy. The cap is easy to put on and take off, stows in the back and protects the pen well when not in use. Speaking of which, the 2.1mm size is perfect for calligraphy and I love how you can increase the line width with the pressure setting. While it's great, I still gravitate toward chisel markers when it comes to calligraphy. They're just more predictable, a little easier to control. The Pentel Arts Tradio Iridium nib is not as smooth and easy to use as a felt tip and costs a little more. If you're purely into calligraphy and don't need variable width beyond what you can do by adjusting the angle of your pen, I recommend using a marker. Otherwise it is a fine fountain pen style writing instrument which I am sure is the right person to cherish and enjoy. It is recommended to write on heavier than standard paper to minimize bleeding. court
