Review on πŸ“€ LG 4K Ultra HD 3D Blu-ray Player with Remote Control, HDR Compatibility, DVD Upconversion, Ethernet, HDMI, USB Port, Black – 2017 Edition by Maurice Stavros

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very basic model but plays DVD and Blu-ray

Important, check prices as this is a basic device - no streaming, no Wi-Fi - and doesn't require a premium price. Doesn't deserve the three-digit price. Pros: What he does, he does well. Which plays a variety of discs including Blu-Ray, DVD and a wide range of R/W formats. The picture quality is excellent. Blu-ray and DVD loading times are also excellent. Played some rather suspicious discs (scratches and abrasions) with no problems. Easy to connect and use. Any HDMI cable will work with 1080p TVs, but you may need a cable that's tested for HDMI 2.0 if you're connecting to a 4K TV. The only other output in the optical cable that worked out of the box on my old 5.1 system. Without ad. Displays tend to be distracting and useless as on-screen menus are the norm today. Thankfully, this device doesn't have it. The Bad: Very few frills and no streaming. I'm not overly concerned about streaming - I have the Revain Fire TV for that purpose - but having a wired connection just to get Blu-ray updates is very annoying. This probably explains why the device is heavily discounted. I suspect the USB port is USB 2.0 only. I tried several more advanced USB 3.0 flash drives but the device didn't recognize them. The remote control is minimalist. Again, no frills and very small. No backlight for buttons etc. Simple and muted remote but adequate. Cables are not included. Again what you would expect from a basic budget device. Not impressive. This is NOT a multi-region player. Living all over the world this was a major annoyance, although I've now bought a "cracked" player to watch my extensive DVD collection. In conclusion, I can say that this is a very worthy multi-format player, which is why I bought it. . As a household solution that primarily streams content, I don't really have any issues other than just having to connect the player to an ethernet network to get Bluray security updates.
