Some of the reviews almost made me give up buying it, but then I finally decided to give it a try because the idea looked intriguing. where you just pull a lever to spit out some fries and it worked way better than I expected. This requires a little pressure, but not as hard as other french fries cutters I've used where you have to press the lever. Lever down with a push with lots of force, sometimes I had to slam it down where I'd broken the knife and/or blades in the past. The trick is to cut off a piece of each end first and make sure the lines line up. This makes it easier to slice the potato without trying to bend or remove the blades due to the potato's rounded edges. Then simply squeeze the lever, one pull at a time, not too quickly and with enough pressure to push the potatoes through the blades. For me it was incredibly easy. I used a 25 hole blade because I prefer bigger potatoes. And, as mentioned in the description and other people's reviews, don't cut up a sweet potato without microwaving it for a minute or two to soften it. In case you're wondering, here's how I make french fries. I place aluminum foil in a 9x9 inch pan, just enough to roll up the potatoes, drizzle with pam canola oil to prevent sticking, place the potatoes in the pan, add some oil, sprinkle with salt, lemon pepper , Italian spice and garlic. Powder, then cover the potatoes with aluminum foil on each side to cover, then bake at 475 degrees for 70 minutes. Take them out halfway through, about 35 minutes, and shake/stir the fries a bit, then put them back in for the remaining 35 minutes. Then turn off the oven, but leave the potatoes in the oven for another 20 minutes while they cool so they continue to soften. storage container), then dip and enjoy! Much healthier than deep fried potatoes and tastes way better than air fried, IMHO.
