A few months ago I bought what I thought was a cheap disposable siphon for my reef aquarium. It worked very well, but I figured it was only a matter of time before something broke. I was happy to find this electop siphon pump because it had more bells and whistles and definitely had a more durable FEEL than I got it. This is where the positive ends. Using the hand pump was useless as I tried 3 times to get a good flow of water from my tank into the water. I did the same thing with this system as I did with my cheap system. trickle trickle, drip drip. Then flow a little and that's it. In the end, this device was really TOO solid and not maneuverable enough for me to even attempt to use it effectively. So now it's in the box as a backup, even if my tried and tested cheap alternative eventually stops working. I had high hopes and they were dashed by the lack of water intake on this unit.
