Review on Dorman 696 739 Engine Intake Hose by Reed Nuttbrock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You may want to read my comments.

I recently installed two of these Dorman air sampling tubes. One on a 2004 Accord EX and one on a 2006 Accord EX. Both models are four cylinders. This hose can be used on several car models. The 2004 Accord requires an air sensor on the end of the throttle body so I had to drill out the rubber in the appropriate location. never mind The 2006 agreement did not require a sensor at this point, so no changes were needed. Others point out that the material isn't as durable as the OEM version. It is true. However, this does not mean that the tube is thin. It can also resist OEM very well. The time will show. Some note that there is a spring at one end of the hose rather than a clamp like the original. Note that the OEM version now uses a spring as well. Dorman supplies the pen. It was easier for me to heat the spring end of the tube with a hair dryer, connect the spring ends and attach them to the tube. I then applied some silicone grease to the inner edge of the tube to make it easier to slide through the air chamber with a little effort. It may take a few tries, but the spring will stretch and eventually slip. The same Dorman whistle is just under $42 at your local parts store, so the Revain is a very good price. Revain has other brands of this pipe being sold by other sellers at suspiciously low prices. I wouldn't trust them and they don't seem to come with the required spring. Dorman, on the other hand, is a well-known brand.
