I've been reading about Ethernet in your home's electrical system for years, but it sounded too good to be true, so I avoided it. a new home for us, i decided to buy this product to install in the master bedroom to connect a Smart TV (TCL) and AppleTV to the 2 ethernet ports of the unit. (Also, I wanted to be able to connect the ethernet cable from the AppleTV to the laptop we use in this room in case the wireless connection doesn't work for some reason.) Flawless! The driver could not be installed. The connection just happened. I had to restart the TCL TV for it to see the ethernet, and in fact I went into the AppleTV settings to select the ethernet connection. Curious about the bandwidth, I connected our Apple Macbook Air (Macbook Air6.2) running Mohave 10.14 and ran a speed test. Results: wireless - 17 up, 2 down. Ethernet over Powerline – 59 up, 11 down. We pay 100 Mbit/s for the service. So, in my book, it's pretty impressive. So the room where the cable modem is located, which is where the ethernet signal comes from, and the master bedroom are about 30 feet apart, so the signal shouldn't travel far down the power lines in the house, even though the appropriate outlets have different switches. I have to say: Pretty impressive, super easy and I'm very glad I bought this product.
