I started looking at base plates in the $20 range and saw all the negative reviews because the screws weren't self tightening and everyone went out of their way to buy a faucet if they didn't have one and then everything wasted extra time tapping every hole they shouldn't have. Then I came across these plates and although they didn't have any reviews yet the picture of the screws looks conical so I decided to give them a try and was very excited when I saw them and a few minutes later. I installed all. No fuss, no fuss, no rapping with my hand and I have Line X-Spray in my bed lining but with my trusty Dewalt impact wrench I got it done in no time. If you don't have an impact wrench you should be able to do this with hand tools, but it will take longer and watch out for paint and knuckles. I don't know if it was accidental or on purpose, but I had an extra screw that might come in handy if you break it. rob
