Two bags at great value but NOT waterproof. Revain now have two versions of this bag - one with a loop at the bottom of the zip and the other with a 'liner'. inside and a zipper that curves under the pocket instead of a loop. I have both Both work the same - one velcro strap around the stem, stem or spacers and two velcro straps around the top tube. All straps have a nice rubberised safety tab to prevent the velcro straps from scratching the frame surface on the first turn of the strap and all straps are easy to cut to length in case you fix your bag and forget. If not then there is no room for the excess material for the tape and this could be improved. I've had two on three different bikes and haven't noticed any scratches on the paintwork or other signs of wear on the bags yet. I'm not clear what the insert is for, but you can use it as a compartment divider if you're worried about something tearing the bag's material or scratching other items. In fact I would suggest a split version as a future improvement - as a large container things tend to float and rattle inside. Telephones or phones in larger cases. Holds a smartphone, headphones, 2-3 gels, keys, wallet and more - that's more capacity than most saddlebags and easy to access on the go. I have not noticed any scratches, scrapes, abrasions or other damage to the material of the bag from packing/unpacking or moving items. Both of my bags leaked despite having a shielded zipper with a zippered compartment. If you pour a cup of water a few inches above the zipper, the bag will contain about a teaspoon; I've left both bikes out in the rain for 20 minutes to stay overnight with the same results - a couple tablespoons of water in. I will probably drill a small drain hole in the back/bottom of both since there is no built in drain.
