I was a bit worried after reading some of the negative reviews but when they arrived they were in perfect condition. In any case, I planned to correct the edges. Only one beveled bit had what I would call a "bad" edge. Having worked a lot in Asia, I understand that a product is often sold under multiple names, but I found it odd that they clearly weren't "PSI". but Benjamin Best. It doesn't matter, they work fantastic. Just to test them out quickly, I took a piece of a branch from an apricot tree that had died in my yard. I used everything to test them and they were all fantastic. As you can see from my photos, my lathe is an inexpensive Cummins, but I've had no problems. Not a single catch and that's impressive as I didn't hit the corners with a bandsaw as you can see. I can still change the heel, but I would do it even with an expensive set. A few things to note that I've read in other reviews: 1) If you use them properly, there will never be enough pressure to break the steel. To make sure this doesn't happen, watch Richard Rafan's Catches video. 2) Yes, the tips can be untied (I didn't). If so, my uncle, who was a professional carpenter, would literally soak them in water overnight to allow the dry wood to swell and retighten the points. I would have thought a light oil would work better, but I wasn't surprised at what he did. 3) I love the box it comes in but to be honest they will never see that box again once my shop is set up. You will stand behind the lathe on the handcrafted shelves. In the end I am very satisfied with the purchase and can only recommend it.
