I needed an exact replacement for my 3x8 shifters on my 2015 Cross-Rip. After 22,000 miles, the right derailleur could no longer keep the derailleur steady. I didn't want to pay for Shimano, and I don't like how the new Claris places shifter cables under the bar tape. These are not exact replacements. You'll have to relearn how to shift and brake, but it doesn't take long. It is easiest to work with them from the hood. The index finger is shifted to a smaller cog or pinion and the middle finger to a larger one. There are 3 separate levers instead of 2. But they work perfectly. Shifts are precise, the left hand has a medium 1/2 shift which is sometimes necessary to keep the derailleur from rubbing on the chain and requiring less effort to brake. I didn't understand how annoying worn shifters can be when riding with the chain jumping from gear to gear. I don't know how long they will last but for now I think they are worth the price. I'm updating this as I've been getting a lot of questions lately. Two years and about 10,000 miles later, these switches are still working. Not perfect, but still 5 stars for the price. I ride to work, I fall, I ride in the rain, I drop my bike while I'm fixing my shoes. These aren't eye candy, but they do the job.

Pros
