Tekton Composite on wrenches

I have tools from different manufacturers, mainly Snap On and Mac. When I have a 1/2 socket, it's usually on the end of a percussion gun or flex-head, long-handled ratchet instead of a standard ratchet. So when it came time to buy a standard 1/2 drive ratchet I didn't want to spend a lot of money as I rarely used it, but since I was spoiled by my snap-on 80 tooth ratchet, I still wish I had a fine-toothed ratchet. I started looking and found a 72 tooth compound ratchet. For the price it was worth a try. I REALLY LOVE THIS TRATCH! It's great, feels great in the hand and the composite coated body is a great idea. I had a job this weekend and used this ratchet exclusively while my latch and Mac ratchet were in the box. It could be new in a new ratchet, it could be a 72 fine-tooth gear or a composite body, but I just dig it. The quick reset feature is great, although that's the only "cheap" feel since the button is all plastic. The red handle picks up grease and dirt fairly easily and isn't as easy to clean as the chrome one, but I'm also not afraid to put it in the workshop while I'm working. Plus a lifetime guarantee. I haven't taken this ratchet to extremes and haven't had it in a long time so durability is unknown but great. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • 72 tooth gear only offers 5 degree working angle
Cons
  • No power
