I bought this to replace my kettle which was leaking at the bottom seam. There are no seams, so there are no problems. The color is a little less bright than in the picture but still a nice navy. The release on the handle is convenient and does not heat up, eliminating the need for oven mitts. The reason for the three stars is the nose. You almost have to turn the kettle upside down to pour out all the water. It's pretty dangerous when it boils. I've found that to get the hot water I need without having trouble pouring, I have to pour about two cups more water into the kettle than I would otherwise need. I only use it once or twice a week so it's not that hard to get it back. If yours is used heavily, you can choose a different model.
