The family was looking for a new kettle, the paint we had was completely chipped so we wanted a simple brushed stainless steel kettle like this. Unfortunately, there was no rating for this item at that time and I wasn't sure because of the unknown quality. Reading the reviews, it seems that every sub-$50 electric kettle has certain issues for some buyers. Then I realized I have an established kitchen timer from this company. My research shows this is an American company and yes the kettle is made, you know where, but I've concluded that quality control is the main reason so many kettles struggle. So, despite the lack of reviews, I took a chance and hope the American company has a better grip on quality. After a week of use I can say it works.
