I ordered this ring for our 4 year old Australian cattle-dog/German point mix. He has a history of tearing up any sort of soft or plush toy so we stick with hard rubber toys such as Kongs. My sister has a 200 pound Newfoundland and swears by the Tuffy brand of dog toys for her dog. I ordered this ring for our pup after my sister's rave reviews figuring if the Newf can't tear up then our boy will be fine. WRONG. So wrong. Our dog had the ring for not even five minutes when we heard a ripping sound. Sure enough, he tore off a chunk of the black edging around the outside of the ring. I immediately took it away and sewed it up myself, not wanting to bother with return shipping and whatnot. I gave it to him again a few days later when riiiip! Another hole in another spot. We weren't even 'playing' with it, no tug of war or anything, just the dog chewing on it like dogs do. It's now in the trash. Such a waste. He got a total of ten minutes with the ring and now it's garbage. We will stick with Kongs from here on out. Don't waste your money!
