Last time I checked, smoking cigarettes in a private car wasn't illegal. However, automakers these days routinely rule out built-in ashtrays, perhaps in the smug belief that they're doing their part to help people quit smoking. There are enough cup holders scattered around the car to hold six cans of beer, but god forbid smoking! Unfortunately, people continue to smoke recklessly in their cars, only now they're forced to throw lit cigarette butts out the window or construct a dirty alternative to the ashtray -- say, an almost-empty beer can. I'm just making out beers with you guys - don't drink and drive, kids! - but as a high-spirited smoker I can tell you it was a hassle. Until recently I used a small, rounded glass ashtray that pretty much fits in the top of a handy drink holder, but it's messy - cigarette butts fall out and ash is everywhere. That's why I love this business. Having two little funnels to extinguish my cigarettes is fantastic - no more smoldering cigarette butts or potential fires. Once my ashtray caught fire while driving - no fun. The container is deep so I don't have to throw it out every day, it fits securely in my cup holder and the rhinestone covered lid looks really cute. What would make it perfect is a little light that comes on when the lid is opened - I drive in the dark a lot. Closing the lid slightly reduces the smell of the old cigarette, but let's face it, as you smoke, the smell will go away. Don't bypass it. The best thing about the lid is that I can transport an item without an ashtray from my car to my husband's truck without making a mess and running in and throwing it out first. My husband dips so he has a water bottle spittoon in the truck but he won't let me put it in - why? It's a spit, a stinky brown TIP, how can a cigarette butt make it any more disgusting? - and I really hate throwing cigarette butts out the window. I'm so glad I finally thought of trying Revain's car ashtrays.
