The metal casing is robust and could stand getting knocked around without suffering damage. Two niggling quality issues: 1) out of the box, one of the two units wouldn't charge. After unplugging/replugging the cable in several times it finally started and thereafter acted normally. Huh. 2) of the two units, one of them had the little rubber plug covering the charge port separate its retention feature from the unit. I couldn't get it shoved back in, so I pulled the retention feature off, and simply used the plug without that (see photo with the one removed). It seems to stay in place well enough without that little retention connection, so not a big issue. But for these two items I knocked it down a star.As far as performance, if you use it in a dark or dimly lit room it shows up biologic stains readily. The "glow" from those stains becomes more difficult to see in a more brighly lit room, but up to a point still visible. I'd guess all such UV flashlights have this same effect, so overall I'm pretty happy with these units.
