Just bought with an accessory kit for use on a 1995 600lb Powermatic 66.Pro: - Definitely for very heavy use. Didn't even flinch let alone deviate when my 600lb saw was loaded on him. The size of the base is infinitely adjustable within the specified range, unlike many other models which have pre-drilled holes at a spacing that is not always ideal for a particular tool/application. - Very low profile and does not add height essential your machine platform after installation.- After replacing the factory pair of fixed castors with swivel castors, the maneuverability is excellent. (See also Con below.) - The roller positions for my particular machine configuration do not protrude towards the operator and do not pose a real trip hazard like they do on many other models. - The finish is very industrial and discreet. No shiny or nasty neon details. Cons: Full assembly required. That means you get a big box of parts and a very large package of screws and washers. As expected, the instructions are cryptic at best and can be frustrating for anyone unfamiliar with such things. There are 50+ sets of bolts to assemble and install for both this base and extension (including casters, frame assemblies, etc.). Be prepared to spend at least 1-2 hours assembling and sizing this unit for your particular installation. .- The fixed pair of rollers that comes with this device allow your car to be maneuvered in only one direction without having to push/pull/pull the device (which I think defeats the purpose of having it) . Replace them immediately with another pair of casters that match the factory pair and they handle like a dream in all directions with very little effort, even on a 600-pound machine. is infinitely adjustable and relies on bolts holding the frame together instead of bolts. Too much and you can damage the frame members or strip the threads on the screws, too little and you'll end up with a loose and sloppy assembly. It took me a few moments to find the sweet spot. - "Feet" aka "leveling feet" are more trouble than they're worth (IMHO). They rely on a magnetic connection within the frame to keep the foot up on the adjustment bar. They also only leave about 1/4 inch of legroom when fully retracted, so they will snag on anything other than a smooth and level glass slab of concrete or loosen the rubber pads. I can try upgrading to a simpler solid spindle replacement, but don't be surprised if you get a little frustrated trying to use the factory defaults. Not such a big deal, but worth mentioning. have on your machines that require mobility without sacrificing stability. Just be prepared for a few minor build headaches, and if 360* portability is important to you, buy some proper caster wheels when you buy it so you can put it together right the first time.
