My new GPU has an 8+6 pin power interface. I only had one 6+2 pin power connector for my EVGA power supply because I had lost the other 6+2 pin power connector and needed it to fully power my new graphics card. It seemed like a good replacement and it works perfectly. I was under the impression that one end of the cable would have a 6-pin connector separated from the others by a 2-pin, so you could use it as a 6-pin power connector if you didn't need the extra two pins. but this cable is a fixed 8-pin connector on both ends of the cable. Luckily the one I already had was the correct 6+2 pin so I just used the 6 pin from this and that spare header as a full 8 pin. It works, just don't let the description fool you: neither end is 6+2, they're both solid 8-pins.
