Review on TOOLBAY Socket Men's Stocking Stuffers: Universal Socket Grip Tool in Black by Michael Olsen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great tool - 3/8 " deep - many similar options available

I've wanted one of these tools since I started collecting tools as a kid and saw ads for this tool back in the 80's or so I am surprised how many vendors and brands has the same tool including the original OG Gator grip. Tip: If you're looking to add this to your collection, spend some time looking around and you'll find all sorts of options that come with different attachments, flexible adapters, etc. Coming back to this tool, I will not use this for high torque applications, it is a handy tool for me and I have used it as the site images suggest. All sorts of oddly shaped fasteners, either with a speed knob or a power tool. In a week this has already saved me enough time to be worth a penny. The pins are well grouped and firmly seated in the instrument. Two things not mentioned in this particular tool: 1. Maximum Torque (450 ft.lb is stated on expensive versions)2. Nest Depth - Although this looks like a deep well nest, the pens and feathers take up most of the space. I took a measurement and you got a 3/8 inch socket depth. All in all a solid tool and I'm glad I finally got one after 30 years of tool collecting.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Doubtful
