Review on 500 Watt Step Up and Down Voltage Converter Transformer with USB Charging Port, UK Power Adapter, AC 110 / 120 to 220 / 240 Volt and Vice Versa, 110V/120V/220V/240V Input Voltage - Pyle PVTC320U by Kris Martin

Crashing after only two uses

Literally the second time I used this PSU it failed. I'm not sure what exactly went wrong, but the original fuse blew. Perhaps the burden was too great. I didn't think the Amiga 500's power supply (220V) would draw too much. Now, even with no load connected, if I turn on the buck converter when connected to 110V, the fuse will blow immediately. I tried replacing the fuse with 4A, it also blew immediately. When I measure the resistance between two AC wires with a voltmeter, I get just over 1 ohm. Maybe it's normal since the wires go straight to the transformer - I don't know. What I do know for sure is that it's dead and I bought it too long ago to feel good about returning it via Revain. If I buy another one I'll make sure to stay away from any other Step UJP converter that looks like this one. As for it, it's a heavy piece of e-waste. Maybe I'll short out the fuse holder and turn it on to see what melts first.
