I bought this adapter because my laptop didn't have built-in Bluetooth; it came with an installation CD (most new USB-powered peripherals are PNP, but I digress); I installed the drivers that were on the CD; he went on to say that he did not recognize him; I tried all 3 USB ports on my laptop and it finally recognized it on the 3rd USB port and the small pinhole sized activity light comes on. Then when I plugged my Skullcandy Bluetooth headphones into it, the sound quality was great. The only issue I noticed was that when multiple apps are open like discord or skype that use audio, the adapter gets recognized and actually crashes my laptop and gives me a blue screen of death lol (maybe by - Conflict between multiple programs?). I also noticed that it showed me two options in the taskbar and it was a guessing game which one to use; tbh I haven't used it since but it will probably be a pinch when my wired headphones die lol
