Heavy Duty Circlip Pliers
I bought these to install the circlip on the crankshaft of a Type 1 VW engine. The snap ring holds the gears to the front of the crank but doesn't have holes like a traditional snap ring. They grabbed the end of the locking ring and opened it up to fit it over the end of the crank and into the groove it sits in. Worked well and will use again on my next engine build. May also work with other applications where the locking ring needs to be lengthened. Might work for piston rings too, but haven't tried it yet.
