Cheap pens, work well.
Works in a traditional old fashioned set of mortise locks. As a homeowner in Albany, I have a few of these. For the most part, they work and are inexpensive. It is an inexpensive finish and ages and wears out quickly, although this finish appears to be of a higher quality than plain brass and ages more gracefully than plain brass with wear. If the set screw loosens, use the blue Locktite screw lock. If you just keep tightening it, you'll rip it off. I use Loctite Blue on almost every install. It's best to use an old pen from a recycled/architectural piece. They are really well made, inexpensive and authentic.
