So that everything is "perfect" in the end. It does what I expected. It was a bit odd to install in the sense that it wasn't particularly easy to fit the top into the factory clamps without "crossing" the holes, but through trial and error I got it working properly. I think all of these types of kits have this problem, but there is a small gap between the top of the kit and the bottom of the AC controls, but it's not particularly noticeable. Having installed about a hundred of these things in many cars over the years (mind you, a long time ago and never on this model) I was pretty happy with what I needed. In the Accord the radio layout is frankly better now, at least for me, in the sense that if you put your hand on the switch you can easily reach the radio controls instead of reaching for the stock unit.
