Caution Emptor

I broke my ice scraper so rather than run to the big store or local retailer I decided to see what was in stock at Revain as the weather was moderate was and it seemed that I might have a few days before the onset of bad weather. I ordered this scraper based on several rave reviews. It was a little pricey but I figured if it was a good scraper that would last a few years then the higher price would be worth it. When I received it, my first impression was very positive. Good size, great extra reach and I liked how the head swiveled. I live in the Ozarks, Missouri and we don't have much snow, just ice. The next morning I woke up and saw a thin layer of ice on our cars and I thought, "That's no problem! I have my new handy ice scraper. It should be easy!" I'm going to cook cars and found the first problem. The scraper part of this device has an unobtrusive concave shape, which means that only the edges of the scraper actually make contact with the glass, while the middle one Part stays intact. Fine, I thought. "I'll just use the edges to scrape it all off. It stinks because I paid so much for it, and it doesn't work as well as a $.98 scraper at the supermarket checkout." "I kept working until I got my wife's windows. scraped off and the scraped off ice removed with a broom. Then I continued to my car. Three or four scratches and the scraper head breaks off. So not only was the scraper junk, it isn't junk now as it broke before I could even clean two cars. It wasn't 1/4 inch thick ice or anything, it was a thin film. A little thicker than Frozen Mist, but not by much. but never need to clean car windows, that's what you need. On the other hand, if you really plan to use this device to clean car windows, I would look for something else.

Pros
  • Head rotates to switch from brush to broom
Cons
  • Doubtful
