I bought this Timken bearing/hub assembly from Revain because it's the best price I've found found this replacement/repair part Timken has the best reputation of any bearing manufacturer. It arrived quickly and was well packaged and brand new, sealed in the box. It included an ABS (anti-lock braking system) sensor and cable as advertised and pictured. If this part is replaced, Ford says the axle nut, as well as the hub bolts that hold it in place, should be replaced and no longer used. These parts are not supplied with the hub assembly. To be fair, he's not claiming they'll be included. However, it costs about $35 to purchase the nut separately from Ford, and the bolts can only be purchased with a Ford Motorcraft branded hub. Trust me, these screws are not easy to find or buy, especially in the right quantity. After some research I found that many other bearing assemblies are sold without these items. I wrote to the seller (PAPA Auto Parts) and they replied quickly and politely that they did not have these items and that they were items from a "local dealer". Timken may or may not make a quality hub, but if the fitment isn't safe without new bolts and a new axle nut, it would be a good idea if they supply the hub bolts and charge a slightly higher price than letting them go to an inefficient one Dealer or uninformed buyer. They may say it is "not their problem”, but in this case it is the buyer's problem and a good reason for the buyer to consider an alternative product/supplier. When I unpacked the second bearing hub for installation, I noticed that the wire going to the ABS sensor was deformed. which was obvious because it didn't look like the fitting for the first hub I opened. When I looked closely I saw a bare wire at the junction of the wire and the formed section. This will short out and turn on the ABS warning light on the dash when the vehicle is first used in rain or snow. I thought Revane/Papa would send another one but without a car it would be a few more days. So I covered it with liquid rubber and installed it. I hope my "fix" continues to work, but at least it worked initially. I When I was done I went to the Timken website and a place where you can contact someone from customer service and I sent a message along with photos of the faulty transmitter wiring so the QC people know the problem has been fixed. pass. I've also asked them to respond and send me a replacement wiring harness if my do-it-yourself repair fails over time. I was really disappointed that no one from Timken responded. at all. . They didn't even bother to ask for pictures of the problematic product I was offering but couldn't upload to their website. inferior bearings from China. But if they were smart, they would take a broader look at what it takes to meet the needs of customers in this market and supply the necessary nuts and bolts needed for security, or they would these their distributors have it taken care of, and make sure wires given to other companies aren't crap. I hope this exchange/repair holds up. I think Revain was an efficient way for me to find/order the right component and the Timken distributor was efficient even though they didn't resolve my issue after the purchase in the end. To be honest I'm not asking them to sort through the ABS wiring harness so they can do something useful quickly.
