Description of Enhanced Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly - Timken HA590156

Integrated raceway and hub increases stiffness as much as 30 percent over conventional systems. Narrow overall package width and reduced radial section thickness lowers unsprang weight, improving vehicle maneuverability and fuel efficiency. So far, so good. Perfect fit for the 2006 Explorer - 18 month update

This looks like quality stock and we rely on the Timkin name. Time will tell how durable it is and review the rating and (hopefully) adjust it up or down. Pulling off the old bearings wasn't fun but they come out of the mini skids with enough rattle which is a must here in the rust belt as you can see in the photo. Unfortunately this is the second bearing on the pass. The front and the driver's front were also replaced twice. All this at 110,000 per Odo, so I seem to be getting around 45,000…

Good choice for DIY

2nd purchase (passenger side) for 2006 Mountaineer, 130,000 miles, sister SUV Explorer, same parts, steering wheel feels stiff when turning left, was a DYI replacement, comes with a new cable bracket, so if the old one breaks, keep an eye on the cable screw, there is no replacement for it. However, you will need custom sized sockets, 32mm for the hub bolt, 18mm or 19mm (depending on your SUV options), 15mm and some extensions of different sizes, 3" or 4". I recommend a ratchet wrench / or…

Works well, looks decent, but not made in the USA.

I ordered two of these bearings as I couldn't clearly identify which of the two front bearings was faulty. My particular generation of Ford Explorer (2008) is notorious for "ventriloquism" when it comes to bearing noise. Most other cars I've replaced bearings on are very easy to isolate. First I replaced the suspect and it got a little quieter. Then I replaced the other side and everything was fine. I assume the first one ended. I don't regret doing both. I've ridden about 1000km so far. No big

Should have lasted over a year but couldn't!

I bought one for each side of the truck and installed it in November 2015. I chose Timken because they want them to be "better than OEM". Less than a year later, one of them is already broken. I sent a message to the Timken company on their website and never received a reply regarding warranty money. This time I'll probably replace it with Moog or even Motorcraft. Not impressed. ** UPDATE: I have to change my original comment. I replaced the failed bearing with another, and upon closer…

  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

I bought this Timken bearing/hub assembly from Revain because it's the best price I've found found this replacement/repair part Timken has the best reputation of any bearing manufacturer. It arrived quickly and was well packaged and brand new, sealed in the box. It included an ABS (anti-lock braking system) sensor and cable as advertised and pictured. If this part is replaced, Ford says the axle nut, as well as the hub bolts that hold it in place, should be replaced and no longer used. These…
