Review on Enhanced Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly - Timken HA590156 by Jeff Strutz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Should have lasted over a year but couldn't!

I bought one for each side of the truck and installed it in November 2015. I chose Timken because they want them to be "better than OEM". Less than a year later, one of them is already broken. I sent a message to the Timken company on their website and never received a reply regarding warranty money. This time I'll probably replace it with Moog or even Motorcraft. Not impressed. ** UPDATE: I have to change my original comment. I replaced the failed bearing with another, and upon closer inspection of the noisy bearing I had removed, realized that that bearing was _not_ a Timken. It was stamped part number 725-0235, a cross reference to the GMB bearing, which is made in China and costs less than half the cost of Timken. I purchased this item new from Revain Warehouse Deals and it appears someone bought a Timken bearing, exchanged the contents of the box for an inferior and significantly cheaper bearing, and returned the item to Revain, who then resold it . like the original Timken. The problem wasn't with the inventory or Timken's quality control system. Instead, it was a dishonest Revain customer who fraudulently returned an item. Revain customer service came and took care of me. Lesson Learned: If you buy something from Revain Warehouse Deals, check it carefully when you receive it to make sure it's genuine.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
