Review on 📷 Amcrest UltraHD 5MP Outdoor POE Camera: High-Definition Bullet IP Security Camera with Waterproof Design, Wide Viewing Angle, and Powerful Night Vision by Shane Miller

I bought this camera to use in my driveway so I can keep an eye on people going in and out of our home office. I also wanted to make sure customers' cars were parked where they shouldn't be. I expected the image to be similar to my other PTZ cameras. So I was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the image very clear, but I could zoom out to about 300 feet using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software (digital) and still see people. Because the camera uses a POE connection, I didn't have to run power cables to the cameras along with the old coax cable. I simply connected the camera to a POE network switch and it not only powered the camera but also streamed video to my NVR over a secure network. This means no wires running throughout the house/office and I don't have to worry about running wires through doorbells and ceilings. Another great thing about the POE system is that I don't have to worry about people outside my private network hacking the WiFi camera signals. The body of this camera is even more durable than I expected. Looking at the camera online, I just assumed the body would be all plastic. I was happy to see that the camera had some weight and felt solid. Another advantage of this camera is the ball joint mount. The camera can be moved up, down, left and right or even rotated as needed as the ball mount allows it 360 degree movement. My other PTZ cameras and fixed Wi-Fi cameras cannot do this. The only downside of this camera will be: 1 - it has no microphone. I would like to be able to hear sounds around the camera and 2 - the sun visor hood on top of the camera could stand a little longer or move a little further forward. So it could block out a little more of the long sunsets in the summer. However, this can easily be remedied with a small adjustment to the placement. If you are on a network and want a quality camera with a great picture I would definitely recommend this one.
